La Follia – Oceanfront

Palm Beach, Florida

The loggias are built with engineered glass panels, which can be raised and lowered into the basement as the weather directs, further merging the interior and exterior landscapes.

The Italian Villa pictured here is a 45,000 square foot residence located in the south end of Palm Beach framed by the Atlantic Ocean on the East and the Intracoastal Waterway on the West. The house is clad in indigenous Florida coquina and rises above the sand dunes in full view the coral reefs from which it received its skin.

Built in eighteen months on a virgin tract of land the important original trees and vegetation were maintained for the gardens and grounds. The interiors are warm and invite the landscape and sea inside. The loggias are built with engineered glass panels, which can be raised and lowered into the basement as the weather directs, further merging the interior and exterior landscapes.
